Karimulla (Karim) Shaikh is the Chief Technology Officer at CATO, where he leads technology strategy and product development. He is also an Adjunct Faculty at Carnegie Mellon University teaching design thinking, social innovation, machine learning, and software architecture.
Karim is a seasoned product executive with over 25 years of experience at startups and publicly-traded software companies. Prior to VPS, he was Senior Vice President of Product Development at SDL Language Technologies, a global leader in delivering machine translation and translation management systems to Fortune 100 companies.
His experience leading product management and software engineering spans a number of domains including healthcare e-commerce, retail, and customer-relationship management. While he enjoys getting into the technical guts of scalable and reliable cloud products for enterprises, Karim is also passionate about building high-performance teams by transforming people and process interactions.
