HERNDON, VA — September 4, 2026 — Infrastructure Masons (iMasons), the global nonprofit professional association uniting the builders of the digital age, today announced that Nathaniel Burola has joined the organization as Program Manager for the iMasons Social Accord.
In this role, Burola will work closely with iMasons initiative leaders and the broader team to further develop and advance the Social Accord’s strategy and impact.
The iMasons Social Accord helps the digital infrastructure industry move beyond simply operating “in the community” to becoming “of the community.” Through a practical framework focused on economic, social, and ecological balance, the initiative enables organizations to build trusted relationships, strengthen local communities, and create lasting positive impact wherever digital infrastructure is developed.
Burola brings approximately five years of experience spanning marine biology, climate and environmental policy, AI policy, and data center infrastructure. He spent more than three years working at and supporting the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, including federal rulemaking, policy analysis, stakeholder coordination, and scientific communications.
He created the Data Center Intelligence Operating System, an evolving platform that helps stakeholders track federal and state data center policy, and built the AI & Environment Resource Hub, an open-access knowledge platform containing more than 2,200 resources including research papers, policy documents, organizations, podcasts, and tools. He also publishes The Climate Code, a weekly newsletter on AI, data centers, energy, and environmental policy that has produced approximately 56 issues and reaches about 750 subscribers.
Burola was selected as one of six E2 1Hotels Fellows nationwide and has used the fellowship to advance development of the Data Center Intelligence Operating System. As an Executive Fellow with The Digital Economist, he contributed to the Sustainability in Tech and Regenerative Digital Infrastructure (RDI) 5.0 working groups, represented the organization at international convenings, and moderated a data center infrastructure panel at the World Economic Forum in Davos. He also co-authored “The Infrastructure Equation: Water, Energy, and Community Policy for Georgia’s Data Center Boom,” examining the energy, water, land-use, and community implications of data center growth in Georgia.
