Hyperscalers like Microsoft, Google, Apple, Amazon, Facebook, as well as many of 40+ iMasons Partner Companies, have made bold commitments to Sustainability and are applauded for their leadership. But, do they all mean the same thing when they say “sustainable data center”?
The iMasons Sustainability Committee has been work shopping a framework for thinking about, and talking about, a sustainable data center meant to get us all on the same page. Svein Atle Hagaseth, Chief Revenue Officer of Green Mountain DCs, a long-standing member of the Sustainability Committee and developer of the Sustainable DC Framework, joined the session to present the Sustainability Framework for the first time outside the Sustainability Committee. Our goal is to seek member input as we continue to develop the Framework and roll it out at Local Chapter Meetings in the Nordics, Spain, Turkey, and across the US.
Infrastructure Masons Overview
Infrastructure Masons (iMasons) is a global, non-profit, professional association of people motivated to make a better-connected world for everyone.
iMasons was established in 2016 on the West coast USA and has grown rapidly in terms of members, stature, and impact. To sustain this growth iMasons have formed a network of 15 Local Chapters in order to scale and support iMasons members worldwide.
There are issues that face the Digital Infrastructure industry that can be better addressed collectively – and iMasons is the platform to coordinate and focus this effort. Whenever iMasons meet – we leave our companies at the door.
