iMasons hosted Discovering Digital Infrastructure in partnership with iM Armed Forces, as a joint effort to attract soon-to-be separating active duty united states military members to jobs in the digital infrastructure industry. The event kicked off with a one-hour-long informational session hosted by Lee Kirby, retired Army Captain and Chairman and Co-founder at Salute Mission Critical, and Executive Sponsors of iM Armed Forces. Lee was joined by Tony Grayson, a retired US Navy Commander, currently the General Manager at Compass Data Centers and the new Chair of iM Armed Forces.
The informational session included an overview of the industry and how the transferable skills gained through the military can create careers excellently suited for data centers and the digital infrastructure industry. The presentation also included an overview of iMasons, success stories about successful veteran transitions into the civilian sector plus an open Q&A. In attendance were 34 Active Duty Service Members and 45 Veterans. After the informational portion, we hosted a networking happy hour with key players in the digital infrastructure industry to allow for more communication and open discussion.
