About the Event:
The “Discovering Digital Infrastructure” event was a virtual informational session and networking happy hour held in partnership with iMasons Armed Forces.
Its main goal was to attract active duty U.S. military members who are about to leave the service and help them transition into careers in the digital infrastructure industry. The event featured presentations by leaders like Lee Kirby and Tony Grayson, who highlighted how the skills learned in the military are highly transferable to jobs in the data center and digital infrastructure field.
The session also included success stories, a Q&A, and a networking portion, bringing together 34 active duty service members and 45 veterans with industry professionals. To support the attendees, iMasons offered resources such as a book, branded gear, and scholarships for a data center course.
About the Event:
The iMasons Armed Forces initiative is a program dedicated to increasing the number of military veterans, spouses, guards, and reservists in the digital infrastructure sector.
It aims to raise awareness among the armed forces community about the rewarding career opportunities available and to educate the industry on the valuable contributions that veterans can bring, such as discipline, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
The initiative provides resources, including a job-matching platform, and waives member fees for active duty members, veterans, and their spouses to help them connect, grow, and give back within the iMasons community.
It also collaborates with industry partners to create a direct pipeline of talent and to support and amplify workforce training programs.
