Infrastructure Masons Expands Global Policy Efforts as Governments Prioritize Digital Infrastructure

  • Connects policymakers with practitioners across 150 countries with real-world expertise, data, and proven practices to help governments move from policy to execution.
  • Jeannie Salo, Salo Strategic Advisors retained to apply industry expertise into policy impact.

Washington, DC, August 13, 2026 — Infrastructure Masons (iMasons), the global professional association uniting the leaders who build and operate the world’s digital infrastructure, is strengthening its global policy efforts to deepen collaboration between industry practitioners, governments, and communities to responsibly shape the policies and infrastructure required for the digital economy and the rapid growth of artificial intelligence.

The effort advances iMasons’ broader mission to mobilize the digital infrastructure industry around challenges no single organization can solve alone—bringing together the expertise, experience, and collective voice of the global community to help inform consequential decisions about energy, infrastructure, technology, and economic growth. As digital infrastructure becomes increasingly fundamental to modern life, iMasons aims to serve as a trusted, independent bridge between the leaders building these systems and the governments shaping their future.

As data centers, energy, connectivity, and computing become critical national infrastructure, iMasons is bringing the expertise of those who build and operate it directly to policymakers.

Unlike traditional policy organizations, iMasons draws on practitioners across 150 countries to provide governments with data, research, principles, and proven industry practices to inform policy, attract investment, and accelerate responsible AI infrastructure development.

iMasons has engaged Salo Strategic Advisors to help lead the effort. Founder and CEO Jeannie Salo, who was most recently Chief Public Policy Officer for Schneider Electric North America, will work alongside Cyre Mercedes Quiñones, CEO of iMasons, to serve as Chief Architect of its global policy strategy, mobilizing its global expertise to strengthen government-industry collaboration. The strategy will also build on iMasons’ Power Consortium, Innovation Committee, Social Accord, and Climate Accord.

“Digital infrastructure is now national infrastructure,” says Quiñones. “Governments are deciding how to compete in the AI economy while balancing energy, investment, and responsible growth. iMasons brings the people building that infrastructure directly into the policy conversation.”

“AI is moving faster than the infrastructure and policy needed to support it,” adds Salo. “iMasons brings a global community of engaged and trusted practitioners with the real-world expertise to give governments practical data, expertise, and proven approaches to make better and faster decisions.”

Salo has advised governments, global companies, and international organizations on energy, AI, industrial strategy, and critical infrastructure. Washingtonian has named her one of Washington’s Most Influential People for three consecutive years.
