iMason’s Armed Forces Member Resource Group is excited to share that Mike Eytle has been named as the UK Chair of the MRG.
The Armed Forces MRG aims to increase the number of military veterans, military spouses, guards, and reservists in the digital infrastructure industry worldwide.
Mike retired from the British Army 9 years ago having served 16 years in the Royal Engineers. During this time he deployed on multiple operational deployments around the world serving in Kosovo, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Mike is passionate about supporting service leavers and veterans to maximize their potential once they have left the armed forces.
He is currently Microsoft’s EMEA Regional Director for Datacentre Construction and Integration, leading the fit-out of Microsoft Build and Lease Datacentres across the Region.
Mike, along with MRG Chair Tony Grayson and Executive Sponsor Lee Kirby are constantly working to help retired veterans from all over the world take advantage of scholarships and receive free training and educational opportunities to find their next career in the digital infrastructure industry.
Attracting talent is the biggest single issue facing the digital infrastructure industry globally – the industry that has grown 20X in the last 10 years. In fact, the data center industry will have an estimated 300k new jobs by 2025 in addition to the jobs being vacated by retirement according to the Uptime Institute Global Data Center Survey Results from 2022. Military veterans represent a diverse workforce that learns and adapts quickly and continuously strives for excellence. The goal of the Armed Forces MRG is not to encourage active duty military members to leave their careers, but rather to become more confident and prepared to build their next career upon retirement.
In order to attract and educate military veterans to the industry, Mike and the EMEA members of the Armed Forces (MRG) will be hosting an opportunity for veterans to get an overview of the Datacentre sector and discover the opportunities within the industry that drives the Cloud and data management!
