2018 Diversity Champion Award
One of the largest challenges we face in the infrastructure industry is attracting, developing, and retaining talent. Today, women represent less than 10% of the work force with an even smaller percentage in senior leadership roles. We were delighted to announce, at Datacloud Monaco 12th June 2018, that Rob Roy (CEO Switch) had been selected to receive the first Infrastructure Masons Diversity Champion Award for the outstanding work done to enable career opportunities for women.
Rob Roy hired women before diversity was cool. However, he didn’t do it because of external pressure, or to look good, or even because it was the right thing to do. He did it because it was where he found unrecognized talent to grow his business.
The image below from the Switch website shows the Switch management team. Over half are women, and it has been that way for over 10 years. Hats off to Rob Roy, first winner of the iMasons Diversity Champion Award!
